The Fonda/Stevens Group’s European Tour Begins Today

Starting tonight, The Fonda/Stevens Group will celebrate its latest release, Memphis (Playscape Recordings), with a European tour spanning two weeks and eight countries.

Co-led by bassist/composer Joe Fonda and pianist/composer Michael Jefry Stevens, who are also celebrating 25 years as collaborators in 2009, The Fonda/Stevens Group features trumpeter Herb Robertson and drummer Harvey Sorgen.

George Schuller’s Circle Wide On Tour

Drummer/composer George Schuller and his longstanding quintet, Circle Wide, will perform at Brooklyn’s Douglass Street Music Collective on Wednesday, February 4th before heading abroad for its European tour.  

The group is on the road supporting its latest release, 2008’s Like Before, Somewhat After (Playscape Recordings), which pays tribute to the music of Keith Jarrett’s American Quartet.
